Managing Your Settings

This article covers how to manage all of the settings in Truck Safe Navigation.

Managing your settings in Truck Safe Navigation allows you to set up and personalize your navigation so everything works exactly how you want it to. 

  1. In the ONE20 app, tap the Navigate icon. The Navigate screen displays.

  1. In the Navigation screen, tap the Start button for the Truck Safe Navigation option. Truck Safe Navigation displays.

  1. Tap the Menu button. The Welcome dialog displays.

  1. Tap the Main Menu button. The Go To screen displays.

  1. Tap the Settings button. The Settings screen displays.

Map Display

  1. Tap the Map Display option. The Map Display screen displays.

  1. In the Map Display screen, configure these fields:
  • Map Styles: Choose the colors and design that you would like your device to use when displaying maps. It also allows you to choose if the maps display in a "Day Only" or "Night Only" view. This means that the maps display in a way that makes them easier to view during the day or night, depending on which option you choose. 
  • Location Info Display: Choose the location info that you want to display on your map. For example, you can decide if you want the current road, destination, nearest town, or other location information to display. 
  • Show POIs on Map: Choose when POIs should display on the map. For example, you can have POIs always display, never display, or only display when you're stopped. In this screen, you can also determine which POIs display on your map by tapping on the Currently Displayed POIs option and enabling the POI categories that you want to display.
  • Show POI Alerts: Choose if your device shows POI alerts on your route or near your route. You can also choose when POI alerts should display on your device. For example, when you're driving down the road, you can tell the navigation to send you an alert that you're within 0.2 to 25 miles of a POI. This field also allows you to choose which POIs you are alerted about. 
  • Show Map in Directions Views: Choose if your device shows your maps in directions view. This means that when you choose a distance in this field, your map view changes at the chosen distance from a directions view to a map view. 
  • 2D Display Settings: Choose how your 2D maps display on your device. These options allow you to set if your maps automatically zoom to the next turn, if they zoom to the full route, or if they do not zoom at all. This field also allows you to choose if the map displays as the road ahead facing upwards or if the map always displays North as facing up. 
  • Show Turn Restrictions: Choose if your map displays a turn restriction sign to show any restricted turnings along your route.

Guidance

  1. In the Settings screen, tap the Guidance option. The Guidance screen displays.

  1. In the Guidance screen, configure these fields:
  • ClearTurn Display: Choose this option if you want Truck Safe Navigation to display a more realistic image of the road layout with lane indicator arrows and real sign post information. 
  • Turn Warning Distances: Set this option if you want to be able to choose how far from a turn you want to be before you receive a spoken next turn instruction. 
    • 2 miles: Choose this option if you would like to hear spoken instructions when you are 2 miles away from a turn.
    • 1 mile: Choose this option if you would like to hear spoken instructions when you are 1 mile away from a turn. 
    • 0.3 miles: Choose this option if you would like to hear spoken instructions when you are 0.3 miles away from a turn. 
  • Background Navigation: Enable this option if you would like background voice instructions for guidance when you are using other apps. 
  • 'Turn Now' Voice Alert: Set this option if you want to be verbally notified when you should turn.
    • Never: Choose this option if you do not want to be verbally notified when you need to turn. 
    • 50 yds: Choose this option if you want to be verbally notified 50 yards before you need to turn. 
    • 100 yds: Choose this option if you want to be verbally notified 100 yards before you need to turn. 
    • 200 yds: Choose this option if you want to be verbally notified 200 yards before you need to turn. 
    • 300 yds: Choose this option if you want to be verbally notified 300 yards before you need to turn. 
  • Second Turn Display: Enable this option if you want a second arrow to display if the next two turns are close together.

Driving Views

  1. In the Settings screen, tap the Driving Views option. The Driving Views screen displays.

  1. In the Driving Views screen, choose one of these options:
  • 2D View: Choose this option if you want your maps to display in a 2-dimensional view. 
  • 3D View: Choose this option if you want your maps to display in a 3-dimensional view. 
  • Directions: Choose this option if you want your maps to display in a directional view. 

The changes are automatically saved.

ActiveTraffic

  1. In the Settings screen, tap the ActiveTraffic option. The Traffic screen displays.

  1. In the Traffic screen, configure these options:
  • Enable Traffic Service: Enable this option if you would like Truck Safe Navigation to notify you when you are approaching traffic on your route. 
  • Display Traffic Bar: Enable this option if you would like Truck Safe Navigation to display a bar at the top of the navigation screens with traffic information. 
  • Distance Ahead to Report Traffic: Choose how far ahead on your route you would like to be notified about or see traffic information. 
  • Traffic Update Interval: Choose how often you would like traffic information to be updated. For example, if you choose the 10 mins option, the traffic information and updates that you receive will be updated with the most up-to-date information every ten minutes. 
  • Show Traffic Delay Alert: Choose when you would like to be alerted of a traffic delay along your route. For example, if you choose the Delay of 20+ mins option, you are only notified about alerts that could cause you to be delayed by 20 minutes or more along your route.

Speed Limit

  1. In the Settings screen, tap the Speed Limit option. The Speed Limit screen displays.

  1. In the Speed Limit screen, configure these options:
  • Show speed limit: Enable this option if you would like Truck Safe Navigation to display how quickly your vehicle is moving. 
  • Show warning when exceeding speed limit by: Enable this option if you would like Truck Safe Navigation to tell you when you are going above the speed limit for the road that you are on. 
  • Receive audible speed warning: Enable this option if you would like Truck Safe Navigation to verbally tell you when you are going above the speed limit for the road that you are on. 

The changes are automatically saved.

Language and Voice

  1. In the Settings screen, tap the Language & Voice option. The Language screen displays.

  1. In the Language screen, choose the language that you would like the maps to use on your device. The changes are automatically saved. 

Sound

  1. In the Settings screen, tap the Sound option. The Sound screen displays.

  1. In the Sound screen, configure these options:
  • Mute All Sounds: Enable this option if you would like to turn off all Truck Safe Navigation sounds, alerts, and other noises that the app plays. When this option is chosen, the Truck Safe Navigation is completely silent. 
  • Turn on Button Click Sounds: Enable this option if you would like your device to make a sound every time you tap on a button or option.
  1. Choose one of these options:
  • Mute during voice prompt: Choose this option if you would like all sounds, alerts, and other noises to refrain from playing when the Truck Safe Navigation voice prompt is speaking. 
  • Reduce during voice prompt: Choose this option if you would like all sounds, alerts, and other noises to decrease in volume when the Truck Safe Navigation voice prompt is speaking. 
  • Use same volume as voice prompt: Choose this option if you would like all of the sounds, alerts, and other noises to play at the same volume as the Truck Safe Navigation voice prompt. 
  • No voice prompts while music is playing: Choose this option if you would like the Truck Safe Navigation voice prompt to refrain from playing when music is playing on your device. 

The changes are automatically saved.

Motion Lock

  1. In the Settings screen, tap the Motion Lock option. The Motion Lock screen displays.

  1. In the Motion Lock screen, enable the Enable Motion Lock option if you would like the navigation map to lock when your vehicle is in motion. 
  2. Choose one of these options:
  • 5 mph: Choose this option if you would like motion lock to be used when your vehicle is moving at 5 mph. 
  • 10 mph: Choose this option if you would like motion lock to be used when your vehicle is moving at 10 mph. 
  • 15 mph: Choose this option if you would like motion lock to be used when your vehicle is moving at 15 mph. 
  • 20 mph: Choose this option if you would like motion lock to be used when your vehicle is moving at 20 mph. 

The changes are automatically saved.

Power Saving

  1. In the Settings screen, tap the Power Saving  option. The Power Saving screen displays.

  1. In the Power Saving screen, choose one of these options:

  • Don't use low power mode: Choose this option if you would like your device to completely refrain from using low power mode. 
  • Use low power mode below 30% battery: Choose this option if you would like your device to enter low power mode when your device's battery is at or below a 30% charge. 
  • Always use low power mode: Choose this option if you would like your device to enter low power mode at all times. 

The changes are automatically saved.

Units of Measure

  1. In the Settings screen, tap the Units of Measure option. The Units of Measure screen displays.

  1. In the Units of Measure screen, choose one of these options:
  • English (miles): Choose this option if you would like Truck Safe Navigation to display in miles. 
  • Metric (kilometers): Choose this option if you would like Truck Safe Navigation to display in kilometers (using the metric system).
