Why do different ELDs show information differently?

Different ELDs can present the same information in different ways. For example, if you have two ELDs ("ELD 1" and "ELD 2"), ELD 1 may say that you are three miles north of Chicago, while ELD 2 may say that you are two miles south of Evanston. Both sets of information are correct and accurately represent your location; they are just two different ways to present the information. These differences are caused by how each ELD was designed and developed.
