Setting Up Your Tablet

This support article covers the steps you need to do after you take your ONE20 Wireless Samsung Tab E out of the box and before you can begin using your tablet.

Before beginning these steps, please charge your tablet. 

  1. Press and hold the Power button on the side of your tablet. Your tablet turns on and the Welcome screen displays.

  1. In the Welcome screen, choose the language that you would like your tablet to use. 
  2. Tap the Start button. The Wi-Fi screen displays.

  1. Confirm that Wi-Fi is turned On
  2. Choose the Wi-Fi connection that you would like to connect to. If the Wi-Fi network that you are trying to connect to requires a password, a dialog displays where you can enter the password to gain access to the network.

  1. In the Enter password field, enter the password that is associated with the Wi-Fi network you would like to join. 

  1. After you enter the password for the Wi-Fi network, tap the Connect button. You are returned to the Wi-Fi screen. This screen now shows that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network. 

  1. In the Wi-Fi screen, tap the Next button. The Terms and conditions screen displays. 

  1.  In the Terms and conditions screen, tap the Next button. A Terms and conditions dialog displays. 

  1. In the Terms and conditions dialog, tap the Agree button. The Checking connection screen displays. After it is done checking your connection, the Add your account screen displays. 

  1. In the Enter your email field, enter your email address.

  1. Tap the Next button. A dialog displays that asks you to allow Google to check for security threats on your device.

  1. Choose to allow or disallow Google to regularly check your device for security threats. You are returned to the previous screen. 
  2. Enter your password that is associated with the entered email. 

  1. Tap the Next button. A dialog displays, asking if you would like to add the entered email to your device.

  1. If you would like to add the entered email to your device, tap the Yes button.  The email is added to your device and the Google services screen displays.

  1. Scroll through and enable the Google services that you would like on our device. When a service is chosen, a check mark displays in the box next to the service.

  1. Tap the Next button. The Set up payment info screen displays.

  1. If you would like to enter payment information, choose one of the available options and enter your information. For this example, we will choose No thanks to proceed with the setup process. 
  2. After you've set up your payment information, tap the Continue button. The Protect your tablet screen displays. 

  1. Tap the Next button. The Select screen lock screen displays.

  1. To set a screen lock on your device, choose one of the available options. For this example, we will choose the PIN option to set a four-digit, numeric PIN. The Set PIN screen displays.

  1. Enter a four-digit number that you would like to enter every time you want to access your device. 

  1. Tap the Done button. Another Set PIN screen displays where you need to re-enter the PIN you entered to confirm it. 

  1. After you have re-entered your PIN, tap the Done button. The Notifications screen displays.

  1. From the list of available options, choose how you would like notifications to display on your device. 
  2. Tap the Next button. The Which device screen displays. This screen allows you to restore your information from another device. 

  1. Choose which device (if any) you would like to restore from. 
  2. If you choose to restore information from an existing device, the Restore apps from DeviceName screen displays. 

  1. Tap the Restore button. The information from the chosen device is restored and the setup completes.

  1.  The AT&T Setup & Transfer screen displays. 

  1. Tap the Next button. The AT&T Mobile Transfer screen displays.

  1. Tap the Next button. The Get started with myAT&T screen displays. 

  1. If you would like to set up myAT&T on your device, tap the Set up myAT&T button and complete the setup process. Please note that for this example, we will not set this up because it is not necessary for your tablet to function as designed. 
  2. Tap the Next button. The Set Up Your Accounts screen displays. 

  1. If you would like, set up any additional email accounts that you would like to be available on your device. In this example, we skip this step.
  2. After you have set up the email accounts that you would like available on this device, tap the Next button. If you chose to skip this step, the Skip screen displays. 

  1. Tap the Later button. The Samsung account screen displays. 

  1. If you already have an existing Samsung account, enter that account information into the ID and Password fields and tap Sign In. If you do not have an existing Samsung account, tap the Create Account button. For this example, we will choose to create a new Samsung account. The Samsung account screen displays. 

  1. Enter your personal information. 

  1. Tap the Next button. The Terms and Conditions screen displays. 

  1. Review the terms and conditions information.
  2. Tap the Agree button. The Welcome screen displays. 

  1. Tap the Next button. Your device's home screen displays. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: At this point in the process, your tablet will receive information from ONE20 that will personalize your device. When your tablet is ready to receive these updates, a screen will display that prompts you to initiate this customization. Please note that it may take some time before you receive these updates.

  1. When your device is ready to receive the device customization settings from ONE20, the following screen displays. This screen is the beginning of ONE20 customizing your tablet to better meet your needs. 

  1. Tap the Next button. The Terms and conditions screen displays. 

  1. Review the terms and conditions information.
  2. Enable the I have read and agree to all the terms and conditions above option. 

  1. Tap the Next button. Your device is updated. Please note that this may take a while. When the updating and customization is complete, the following screen displays. 

  1. Tap the Finish button. Your tablet setup and customization is now complete and you can begin using your tablet. For more information on what to expect from your ONE20 tablet, go here: What to Expect from Your Tablet.
